MedPlus Health Services has informed the National Stock Exchange of regulatory action against five stores operated by its subsidiary, Optival Health Solutions Private Limited, in Karnataka. The disclosure, dated October 25, follows orders issued on October 24 by drug control authorities in Bangalore and Mysore.

The most severe action concerns the store at Rukmini Nagar, Nagasandra, Karnataka. The Assistant Director, Drugs Control Administration, Bangalore, ordered a seven-day suspension of the store’s drug licence for an alleged violation of Rule 65 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945. The filing lists an associated amount of Rs 5.40 lakh.

Four additional stores received orders from the Assistant Director, Drugs Control Administration, Mysore Circle. The licence for the Nazarabad store was suspended for one day, with the filing listing Rs 0.19 lakh. The store on 80 Feet Road in Vijayanagar received a two-day suspension, with Rs 1.09 lakh listed in the disclosure.

The Vijayanagar 3rd Stage store was ordered to stop operations under its drug licence for one day. The amount listed for that action is Rs 0.35 lakh. The Siddartha Layout store received a two-day suspension, and the filing lists Rs 1.63 lakh in connection with that action.

Across the five orders, the authorities cited violations connected with Rule 65 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules. The filing describes each action as a suspension of the relevant drug licence and identifies the affected entity as Optival Health Solutions Private Limited, a subsidiary of MedPlus Health Services.

MedPlus said it had undertaken an internal review and initiated necessary compliance measures. The exchange disclosure was signed by Shrenik Soni, the company’s company secretary and compliance officer, and submitted from Hyderabad on October 25.
